Student Digital Devices

Horizon West Middle School Families,
Here is an update regarding our schools 1:1 Digital Learning Program. We will begin transitioning to a classroom-based device model this school year. This means that district-issued devices will primarily be used in school and will no longer be taken home.
Why is this change happening?
- Keeping devices at school ensures they are always updated, and ready for classroom activities, allowing lessons to begin without delay.
- Our teachers blend digital resources with hands-on activities, group work, and traditional materials. This change ensures all students have access to the right tools at the right time.
- Storing devices in the classroom helps reduce accidental damage and loss, ensuring they are available for all students when needed.
- Devices will remain at school.
- Students will be reminded to save their work to their Google Drive account before the end of each class.
- Please encourage your child to handle classroom devices with care and respect.
